Sooty, Sweep and Soo are all in good moods, with Soo saying she's happy because she realises how lucky they are to have such a beautiful and comfortable bedroom, and that they live in a lovely home. However Matthew doesn't feel the same as he feels he is having too many problems around the house, which include door knobs falling off! He says that the house is old and worn out, after which he presents an huge list of problems that need sorting out. Matthew shows the gang exactly what he means when he shows them how bad the lounge windows are! Soo tells Matthew, despite the problems they still have a lovely home, but Matthew isn't convinced and is determined to do something about it. Poor Sweep is convinced Matthew wants to knock down the house, misunderstanding that Matthew wanted to knock through from the lounge to the garage, but Sweep is still upset, which also upsets Soo as well. Matthew is looking through a property newspaper, when at the same time Sooty decides to knock through the garage to the lounge, hoping it will please Matthew...however it ends with two big holes in the lounge wall! Matthew decides that they will move house and has already put their house on the market. Soo says that she knows where the ideal house is and takes the gang into the garage where they view a model dolls house. Later, Matthew and Sooty go to the estate agents to view some properties, which include an home on water, house with no roof, house on a railway line and a rabbit hutch! There is only one property left, which sounds like their 'Ideal' home! It actually turns out to be their own house! Matthew realises that their home is perfect and is happy when Soo reveals that the holes in the lounge have been fixed. They realise that home truely is where the heart is!
